Hi, I have this rough itinerary, nothing is fixed, nothing is booked yet. I just would like to hear comments from you before booking. - Fly in Milan (from MontrĂ©al) : 2 days - Spend 2 days in Milan. I want to see Da Vinci Last Supper. maybe just one day is enough? - Move to Venice by train : 1 day - Spend 3 days in Venice. is that enough? - Move to Florence by train : 1 day - Spend 4 days in Florence. including a day-trip to Pisa. is a day trip to Sienna or Tuscany worth it? would 3 days be sufficient instead of 4? - Move to Sorrento by train : 1 day - Spend 4 days in Sorrento as a base. I want to visit Pompeii (slowly, take my time). I might like to hike Mt. Vesuvius if that's possible. I would also like to visit the Amalfi Coast. maybe a day trip to Capri too? is 4 days too much? - Move to Rome by train : 1 day - Spend 5 days in Rome. That's a minimum... might add a day or two if I take off days somewhere else. - Fly out of Rome (to MontrĂ©al) : 1 day. That is 25 days so far... and that's the maximum of days I have. Would it be possible to take off a day or two in my itinerary? If so, where? This is still an early draft... but I'm open to all your comments and suggestions. As a background, I'm a solo traveler and I'm planning to use trains between cities and public transportation inside the cities (I won't have a car). I'm interested mostly in famous sights, historic sites, learning about history, walking around, drinking and eating outside and not much in arts, shopping, restaurants. I plan to be there somewhere between mid-September to late October. Is this a good time to go? Thanks a lot!... Read More »
